AP Student Winners

SCHS was please to award five students with electronic gifts for scoring well on their AP exams.  Every student who placed well on their AP exams scoring a 3 or higher, had their name put into the drawing for either an iPad2 or a Nook Color for every score. 

 

This is part of an incentive program that SCHS AP program had to promote their AP classes to encourage students to achieve and strive to do their best to reach their full potential.  In today’s society, every student to be needs to be a step ahead and the Advanced Program at SCHS gives students that opportunity.  At SCHS, 57 students scored a 3 or higher which can give them college credit for the AP class they have taken allowing them to exempt those classes in college. 

 

With 7 AP classes being offered at SCHS, this can go far at giving our students that step up they need to succeed.  Congratulations to the winners and all those who participate in the AP programs!

This project was a joint venture between Connie Harding's AP Literature and Composition class and Bill Maynard's Broadcast Video class. Josh Stewart, Katie Johnson, and Johnny Epps made around a thousand pictures to make this stopmotion video illustrating mastery of both The Iliad and the techniques taught by Mr. Maynard's technology class.
